The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) is consolidating more than 200 separate support contracts into 2 new, multiple award contracts. This new acquisition strategy, called the Missile Defense Agency Engineering and Support Services (MiDAESS), seeks a more efficient way of doing business enterprise-wide. The new contracts will affect more than 5000 jobs in multiple locations. Once the contracts are awarded, some positions will be assigned to different companies, some positions will be relocated, and some new jobs are likely to be created.
The MiDAESS contracts will provide job opportunities in the following functional
areas:
- Quality, Safety & Mission Assurance (QSMA) Support
- Acquisition Support
- Engineering Support
- Deployment Support
- Agency Operations Support
- Security and Intelligence Support
Significant numbers of jobs will also be available in the following
locations:
- National Capital Region (NCR)/Ft. Belvoir, Virginia
- Huntsville, Alabama
- Dahlgren, Virginia
- Colorado Springs, Colorado
- Ft. Greely, Alaska
- Vandenberg AFB, California
- Albuquerque, New Mexico
- Los Angeles AFB, California
MDA will host a pre-proposal conference for the MiDAESS RFPs on July 8, 2009 in Alabama.
